The 57th Blake Prize for Religious Art

The Blake partners with Grace Fine Art to enhance its national focus!

Through an innovative partnership with Grace Fine Art, 100 artists will be offered free transport for their entries to this year's Blake Prize for Religious Art. This support is focused on artists from interstate and in drought affected regions. The offer will be trialled in 2007, with the aim of developing the initiative over the next three years.

Blake Chairperson, Rev. Rod Pattenden, said, "The Blake is a national prize and it is imperative we provide an easy and cost effective way for artists to enter from outside the Sydney area. Our partnership with Grace ensures the Blake's standing as a nationally significant prize that is helping both professional and emerging artists."

Sierra Waterman, Business Development Manager of Grace Fine Art added, "As the Preferred Transport Partner of the Blake Prize, we have taken a major step in continuing our support for Australian artists. We are excited about developing the transport initiative throughout our long term partnership with the Blake Prize."

To register for the offer, artists need to contact Sierra Waterman at Grace Fine Art on 1300 766 233. The following Grace Fine Art depots will be drop off points for works:

Capital City Depots (total 60 works):

  • Adelaide
  • Alice Springs
  • Brisbane  (Rocklea)
  • Canberra
  • Darwin (Winnellie)
  • Hobart
  • Melbourne (Hallam)
  • Perth (Forrestfield)

NSW Regional Depots (total 40 works):

  • Coffs Harbour
  • Gosford
  • Newcastle
  • Seven Hills
  • Tamworth
  • Wodonga
  • Wollongong 

Artists need to deliver their works to the nominated Grace depots by Friday July 20 (Hobart, Darwin & Alice Springs) or Friday July 27 (all other areas). The works will then be delivered tto the National Art School in Darlinghurst for judging. Special Blake transport rates will then be offered to artists that miss out on the free transport offer.

Entries for this years' Prize close on Friday July 27, 2007. Entry forms can be downloaded from the web site, or obtained by sending a stamped, self addressed envelope to:
