The ABC's faith and religion program Compass will follow the Blake Prize journey of four artists Margaret Ackland, Phil George, Rodney Pople and Marisa Purcell.
Chasing The Blake follows four artists through one of Australia’s oldest and most controversial art awards, the Blake Prize for Religious Art to see how God can speak to us through art.
Compass critically examines the world of belief and values, seeking meaning and a sense of purpose in life. It navigates the historical and contemporary, the personal and political, the religious and secular. Its guiding principle is to illuminate the spiritual and ethical journey, so revealing the broader issues of community and the shared experience of being human.
The program will be screened on Sunday 1 June, 2008, four weeks before the close of entries for this year’s prize (deadline: 27 June 2008.)
