Notions of fertility and continuity, preservation and renewal inform this work. It is inspired by ancient votive female figures, which encapsulate beliefs, desires and fears that are deeply etched in the human psyche. They embody an inherent conflict between paganism, fetishism and the monotheistic religions that is still at play today.
